Deadwood Creek Residence
Currently in the conceptual design phase, this multi-structure estate is being envisioned as a landmark of site-specific modernism on 40 pristine acres in Durango, Colorado. The design intent focuses on a residence that does not merely sit on the land, but emerges from it, balancing a monumental 12,000-square-foot program with the quiet, profound intimacy of the landscape.
The conceptual architectural language is defined by expansive, undulating rooflines and floor-to-ceiling glass, designed to dissolve the boundary between the refined interior and the rugged Colorado wilderness. As the site plan evolves, the structures are being meticulously positioned to "harvest" panoramic views of the San Juan Mountains while maintaining a low-slung profile that honors the natural topography.
